In a world where information is like air, what happens to power?

On Wednesday night I had the great pleasure of hosting the largest screening yet for the film Us Now, a film about the democratic nature of the web and its potential impact of society and government.  There are plenty of excellent reviews of the film so rather than compose my own, I'd like to point you to those by Rebecca Frankel, Anjali RamachandranCharlie Phillips, Alice Casey and JP Rangaswami.

On the night, each audience member was given a card and a felt-tip with which to give their feedback.  The slides above give a little flavour of how a really quite diverse group of people responded to the issues raised in the film

There are rumours of another major London screening in the new year at the Barbican so please look out for that if you have missed it so far.  While new forms of ownership, empowerment and decision-making enabled by the web is not the solution to all the world's problems, all the same this is clearly important stuff.
