Ordnance Survey – Geovation.

Sector: Government

Our brief: How can entrepreneurs solve commercial or social challenges with geographic information?

What we did: 100%Open has working with Ordnance Survey over 5 years to facilitate and chair the judging panel of the GeoVation programme. GeoVation runs public challenges to address specific needs within communities than can be solved by the creative use of geographic data. The GeoVation community consists of developers, entrepreneurs, data providers, companies, community groups, geohackers, map lovers, social enterprise start-ups, data providers, educators and Government. The programme includes high-energy residential GeoVation Camps to prototype and develop new concepts over a weekend.

What happened: The Geovation programme has given birth to dozens of new data-driven innovations and has now taken up residence in a new collaborative Urban Innovation Centre in London, supported by KPMG, Dstl and Nominet. Check out the latest challenges here.
